Landed Cost Calculator

Estimate the true per-unit cost of an export shipment — product cost, freight, customs duty, and the overhead most first-time exporters forget — based on the walkthrough in A Landed Cost Calculator Walkthrough on TradeMentorHQ.

This is the line most first-time exporters skip — customs holds, demurrage, brokerage fees. Even a rough estimate here beats leaving it at zero.

Landed Cost Result

Landed cost per unit $0.00
Total shipment landed cost $0.00
Product cost$0.00
Freight (allocated)$0.00
Customs duty$0.00
Overhead (allocated)$0.00
0% above ex-factory cost — that’s the gap between what you pay the factory and what the product actually costs you landed. Price below this and you’re losing money on every unit before it even reaches the shelf.

How This Is Calculated

Landed cost = Product Cost + Freight + Customs Duty + Overhead. Freight and overhead are entered as shipment totals and divided evenly across your quantity. Customs duty is calculated as a percentage of (product cost + freight) per unit, which is the base most customs authorities use for ad valorem duty — check your product’s actual HS code and destination country’s duty basis, since some jurisdictions calculate differently. This tool gives a fast estimate for pricing decisions; it isn’t a substitute for a customs broker’s formal classification and duty calculation before you ship.
